Actually, Will has been walking since mid-January, but now that it's two months later, here he is in action! He keeps me busy, that's for sure!

Crawfish: A Southern Experience
To celebrate Aaron's first weekend home we decided to have a Crawfish boil. Our first time dining with the Mississippi mudbug was a true culinary experience. Some locals boiled the crawfish for us, and we ended up with a whole cooler of the little creatures. Thankfully we had some big appetites and lots of hands to help us peel those suckers open!!

Just a sampling of the crawfish bounty we enjoyed!

Even though Will passed on the spicy crawfish he really enjoyed the potatoes, bread, and fried green beans (we had to include him in the Southern experience somehow).

I'll admit the crawfish creeped me out a little bit, but I seemed to do okay as long as I didn't look them in the eyes. :-) They got their revenge on me though... mid-peel one of them squirted their spicy, seasoned juice right in my eye!

A little crawfish math. 35 pounds of fish= 4 pounds of meat

What to do with the leftovers?
Well, we've enjoyed crawfish etouffee, a cajun delight that has us anxiously anticipating our trip to New Orleans in 2 weeks. And on the menu tonight is crawfish chowder. Most of this is going in the freezer to be enjoyed at a later date... I think we've had all the crawfish we can handle for one week.

So Big!
Mimi had fun teaching Will all sorts of new things, including this classic. We tried to capture it on video just before we took her to the airport. Enjoy!
