Proffit's Porch
After a late afternoon thunderstorm, we ventured out to dinner at a favorite local spot, Proffitt's Porch. The restaurant sits on the banks of Officer's Lake, providing a peaceful backdrop to a delicious meal.
Proffit's offers the best in Creole cuisine, from red beans and rice to gumbo, and includes my personal favorite the seafood on french. Notice the hummingbirds on the menu? One side of the porch is surrounded by feeders that the hummingbirds usually swarm. They're really amazing to watch while you dine.

I'm a little upset that we never made it over there--the hummingbirds and seafood alone would make it worthwhile. OH yeah, and going with the Kisers.
