Last weekend, my college friends got together to celebrate my suitemate Emily's baby shower! It was a great excuse to see everyone and we had a wonderful time. Here's our suite, together again!
The shower was hosted by Sarah and Dianna and they did an amazing job! It was a baby book theme, right down to the cake (click photo for a larger image). Tricia, who lived across the hall from me in college, has turned into an amazing cake baker and decorater, and she created our party confection. You should definitely check out her blog
here. She and Emily even surprised us with the baby's gender by coloring the inside of the cake. It's a boy!!!
Emily opened her gifts and received some great books. Her baby is starting off with one incredible library! And of course, we played some fun "literary" games.
I had fun finding the time to actually make some handmade gifts. Here's my "Dr. Seuss" diaper cake... I figured it fit with the baby book theme.
And, I even broke out my sewing machine, blew off the dust, and made a nursing cover! I got the proud mama-to-be to model it for you.
It was such a beautiful Spring day and the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Now, we just have to wait to meet her cute little boy!

You are amazing, Paige. With your cookies and sewing and such... but you tell us all in a way that doesn't make me feel like crap-mom. :-) So thanks. When do you get to find out what YOU'RE having???
