I don't think they suspected a thing... Grandma and Pappy each turned 80 this year! But because our family is a bit spread out it wasn't until we were together for the holidays that we could properly celebrate the milestone. They thought we were simply going out to eat for Tyler's birthday, but instead we had arranged a special evening for them.
We feasted with the honorees on a delicious Italian spread from Carabbas. Yum, yum.
Pulled out all the bells and whistles...
Enjoyed each others' company, and peppered Grandma and Pappy with questions all about their lives during the past 80 years. Most memorable national moment was the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Favorite memories included raising their children and traveling to Europe, something they never dreamed they would be able to do.

Games included pin-the-tail on the donkey and musical chairs (wish I had a video of that...Grandma can throw some elbows!). Boy, do we know how to have a good time or what?!

1st off: I think Meredith looks exactly like Will's baby pictures. Do you?? Such a dearie.
and 2nd: Aaron can always make us laugh. MISS you guys - so much. Travis is already trying to get us going on our Christmas Rap for 2012. :) Tell Aaron he is quite famous with our families, as Trav had to show everyone what his friend did for their (your) Christmas "card". :)
We're high school sweethearts originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, now living life as an Air Force family. Aaron currently flies the F15-E Strike Eagle at Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base, NC. We are blessed with two great kids, our little boy, Will, and baby girl, Meredith, plus a loveable lab, Maddie, who loves to lick!

Somehow I never got to know Aaron very well, but that was hilarious :)
Aaron's carolling was hilarious! After that rap he did for your Christmas card, he should make an album of Christmas songs! :P
