Last weekend, the base hosted the "Wings over Wayne (County)" airshow. Because, we already had family that had planned to stay with us, including Grandma and Pappy all the way from Pennsylvania and several friends from nearby areas that planned to come to the show, we decided to host an Open House/Brunch on Saturday morning.

Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating with our plans. With severe weather looming, the crowd was a little slimmer than expected, but we enjoyed visiting with the few brave souls that decided to venture out.

The forecast for the next day looked bright and sunny, so after brunch we decided to stay close to home and enjoy the morning portion of the show from our driveway. The wind was already blowing strongly and the raindrops weren't far behind.

We were pretty amazed with how much of the show we could actually watch from our own front yard. But it didn't last long...

The rest of the day's events ended up being cancelled. The band of weather that rolled through ended up spawning terrible tornados that left a path of destruction in several parts of our state. Here's a view of our front yard after the hail storm.

We're pretty sure we have some roof damage, but it will be minor in comparison to so many others that had their homes completely destroyed and lost loved ones. Please keep these families in your prayers.
