A Week in Review

After Nana's "surprise" party, Will and I stayed in Greensboro for the rest of the week. The plan was to help Mom with some Spring cleaning, among a few other fun things. Here are some highlights from the week. SUNDAY We went to visit Grandpa Raymond and Grandma Della. Grandpa Raymond gave Will his first harmonica and taught him how to play. He got the hang of it pretty fast, and did not want to set it down. He even mastered the "playing while blowing in and out" technique. It was quite the concert.

MONDAY

Spring cleaning begins! Since we were busy dusting, vacuuming, and organizing I didn't take any pictures, so I thought I'd share this one from Mom's visit a couple of weeks ago. (It'd be boring without a picture, right?!)

TUESDAY

More cleaning... followed by a super fun dance workout! Kate took me with her to her Zumba class that evening. It was fun and funny! Sometimes I couldn't stop laughing at myself (and others) attempting some of the dance moves! And mental note... jumping jacks don't really agree with this pregnant lady's bladder.

WEDNESDAY

I took a break from cleaning to help Kate with a co-worker's baby shower. I made over 40 of these stacked flower cookies, once again inspired by the Cookie Mama. The monogram stands for Ellie Ray. Isn't that a cute name? I was pleased with how they turned out, but boy, I worked on them all. day. long! Next time, I think 2 dozen is my max.

Here's the cute diaper cake we made to match!

THURSDAY

More cleaning... this time tackling the clutter on the massive built-in bookshelves in the den. It was kind of entertaining laughing at mom's craft books from the 80's. That night, I met up with my childhood friends, Amanda and Anna, at my new favorite place in Greensboro...

Yummy, delicious!!! You pay by weight, no limit on toppings, fixin's, or flavors! And we had a great time catching up and reminiscing. So fun to see those girls!

FRIDAY

Well... Will was kind of out of sorts all week with one ailment or another, so we finally wound up at the Urgent Care just to make sure he was okay. The doctor deemed it a gastrointestinal virus, so it just had to finish running it's course. Poor little guy felt and acted miserably, which put a damper on our week, but by the weekend things were finally turning around.

That evening, as Aaron was driving to meet us, my family played a rousing game of Scattergories. I love this game! I think it's been a while since we all laughed that hard. And I pose a question... is it more likely to find aardvarks on a farm, ants on the beach, or muscles in a park???

SATURDAY=SHOPPING! No pictures... but I should have taken one of the teenage hoodlum that was purposely running back and forth in front of cars driving by the shopping center! He was playing some sick game, trying to get hit. I did my civic duty and called the police, because I didn't want anyone to get hurt. So scary and sad!

SUNDAY

Hotcakes at Nana's!

You really haven't lived until you've eaten these. We drove back to Goldsboro full and satisfied.

Wow! What a week! I like you doing your week's in review. They are much more interesting than mine.

1) Will needs to teach me how to play the harmonica. I'll bring mine next time I'm in Goldsboro.

2) Posts without pictures suck. I agree. Thanks for including them.

3) I would pay money to see you and Kate doing Zumba.

4) Glad Will is doing better.

5) Those pancakes look amazing!

Can't wait to see you Thursday!

YUM for the pancake! And what a fun week you guys had. Can't wait to see you guys, hopefully at the wedding (Will and Kate)! Oh, also I want you to teach me one day how to decorate those cookies. Will looks adorable playing the harmonica!
