We decided the beginning of summer was the perfect time to put a playset in our backyard. Aaron's TDY meant he wasn't able to put it together before leaving, so welcome the construction crew... GrandBrad and Aunt Kate!
Notice the hardware lining the garage wall... that's right 697 pieces! We started to do that math if you averaged one screw a minute....oh boy! It was no small undertaking, but after three days everything started to come together.
Meredith and Maddie were happy to supervise!
And this little guy could not be happier with the final result! I'm pretty sure he'd spend every waking moment outside if we let him and now he's got his own (well, it's sister's, too) place to hang out and be a kid.
He pretty much asks to eat lunch out on his bench every day. It was finished on Father's Day, and even though we really missed Aaron, we were happy and thankful to celebrate with GrandBrad! He goes above and beyond for us and we love him so much! And we're so grateful for all of the fathers in our family... Grandpas, Pappy, Papa we love you all and are so blessed to have you in our lives!
One "playground," as Will calls it, equals two happy kids!
The finished product. Totally worth it. It's been in nearly constant use all summer long.
