I decided to host Meredith's birthday party at my parents house in Greensboro since it was just a small gathering of family members. It was a beautiful September day and even though it was small, my Mom and I had a great time getting everything all "gussied" up for the little lady.
We made use of the gorgeous outdoors and set up most things on the patio.Little gift table.
Pretty pink cupcake decor...
With a GIANT smash cupcake! Maybe that was a little overkill, but you only turn 1 once, right?!We also served up grilled chicken kabobs, creamy orange salad, and cilantro rice.
We were so blessed to have three sets of grandparents represented. Grandma Della and Grandpa Raymond and Nana and Papa were present, along with Grandpa Agre all the way from San Antonio.
Sweet girl was soaking up the love and attention.
She only got a little overwhelmed once, but I thought even her crying face was pretty cute.
Then it was cake time. Daddy was able to Skype in for the singing of "Happy Birthday!" and to see her dig into her cake. Brother was very happy to assist.
She started out pretty slow, but finally went all out!
I just love that we shared her special day with so many of her great- and grand- parents! And lots of love from Aunt Kate, and Uncle Tim and Aunt Jana. We are so blessed!
So many sweet gifts, including her Bitty Baby doll from Mommy and Daddy.
She loved opening her presents and was a trooper for the party. I noticed shortly after everyone left that she was running a fever and we found ourselves at the doctor the next day where she was diagnosed with yet another double ear infection. So glad she didn't let it spoil her fun!
Precious day celebrating my baby, who's not so much a baby any more. Sigh.
